WPlus9 | Petunias and Peonies Cards

Hello friends! As I was playing with the Kind Soul stamp set from WPlus9 (where Dawn skillfully combined petunias and anemones) I started thinking about other flowers I can combine with newly released petunias from the Petunia Builder set to form beautiful floral arrangements. After a quick look through my stash I came across an older Pretty Peonies set.

CARD DETAILS

Even though peonies and petunias would probably never end up in the same bouquet (simply because of the size difference) I still decided to group them and I’m happy I did, the result was simply fantastic!

I settled upon using purples for the petunias, but wanted to experiment a bit with colors for the peony flowers. I ended up making 3 cards to show you different color options.

My first choice was purple and gray. I used Fairy Dust and Silver Lining to stamp flowers and I loved the soft muted look I was able to get. You’ll notice I also used darker gray, Silver Lining, to stamp the sentiment on all of my projects.

My second color choice was purple and yellow, something very similar to a Mother’s Day card I shared last year. I used Hayride and Wild Mango to stamp yellow petunias. I find yellow, purple and green to always look beautiful together – this color combo is a winner in my book.

And finally my third color choice was purple and pink. Something rather unusual for me, I have never combined those colors on a project, but I loved the end result. I used Shell Pink and Little Piggy to stamp pink flowers.

The leaves and little filler pieces were all stamped using same purple and green colors (I used Last Leaf and Appletini for my greens). My sentiments came from the Hand Lettered Hello stamp set – I used different messages to create cards for different occasions.

As for the card base – I used Coal Mine cardstock as it’s a great color to go with the bright and bold flowers.
