As I was sorting my stamps the other day I came across the All Year Cheer set and, considering that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I had an idea to create a sweet “Love Birds” card. You might remember my Holiday card set using these same birds I shared back in November. The name of this set is so true – lovely birdies are perfect for any season and holiday!

CARD DETAILS
My today’s video also focuses a bit on stamping a heart shape using individual images. Last month I used a gorgeous wreath from the Fresh Cut Wreath set to stamp Valentine’s Day cards; I wanted to use it again this month, but seeing how it is out of stock and considering some of you might want to grab it from the store it I decided to share a way one can stamp a similar shape using small stand-alone images.
I used two mirrored foliage images from the Fresh Cut Florals stamp set, a pencil-sketched heart and Last Leaf ink to stamp a wreath for this project. Practice always makes perfect when stamping things like this, so stamp a few different wreath options onto typing paper before stamping one onto a finished project.
To make birds on this card a bit more unique I dressed each of them up using a few quick accessories – my boy-bird is wearing a gents hat and is also holding a bunch of heart-shaped balloons (and the oh so romantic “Je t’aime”) from the Friends For All Season: Winter stamp set while the girl-bird has a beautiful floral branch adorning her head.
Little accessories like these can help shape the personality and even add a bit of humor to just about any critter!
