Hello crafty friends! It’s been a while. November and December have been very busy with several trips and this kept me away from my craft room. In this video, I’m showing you a simple way to wrap gifts for Christmas.

In addition to making and giving cards, I love to give gifts. It is my love language. And I love to wrap my gifts in a pretty way. Sometimes I spend more time and effort wrapping the gift, than the gift itself. It is just the way I am.

I wanted to wrap some simple gifts for my neighbors and people I know to spread a little holiday cheer. I ordered some chocolate bars as I thought these would be pretty easy to wrap, and in this video, I’ll show you how I wrap them using my cardmaking and gift-wrapping supplies. You can of course use this as inspiration to wrap any kind of gift.
DETAILS
Let’s first look at the supplies we’ll need to wrap our gifts. First of all, we’ll, of course, need pretty wrapping paper, I am using kraft wrapping paper from my stash. You can use any patterned paper you like, although the simpler the pattern for this type of wrapping the better, as we want the pattern on the paper to not distract from all the other things we’ll be using to decorate our gift. You can even use plain kraft paper. Btw, you can find a lot of wrapping paper designs on the Spellbinders website, although none are Christmas designs, they are all everyday prints.
I pulled 2 types of ribbon to wrap my gifts. I picked the gold circle’ ribbon from Vivant, this ribbon is plastic and can be curled using the edge of scissors. The other type of ribbon I have is the green satin ribbon from Vivant, which is the green gold color, this is a very high-quality ribbon, and btw, you can even foil on this. I thought about adding a foiled message to my gifts, but since I’m wrapping 25 chocolate bars, I figured that would be a bit too much work. If you are wrapping just one gift for that one special person it makes sense to add some foiling to the ribbon.
I love to use faux flowers and faux greenery for my gifts, so I used faux pine branches from my stash, I cut those apart using wire cutters and added a branch onto each gift. You can substitute these by using die-cut branches, we all have loads of dies so it wouldn’t be that hard to create some pretty die cuts.
Next, I also have faux red berries, I’ve had these in my stash for years, and I keep using them for some sort of holiday decor, and this year I decided that they would look fabulous on top of these gifts. Again, if you don’t have berries like this, consider die-cutting berry branches from brown and red cardstock and using die cuts instead. It would be cheaper than buying these berries.
Next, I decided I wanted to add a wax seal onto each gift, I love to make wax seals and I’m finally getting much better at making them, so I pulled out my wax seal kit, some green and black wax, and a few wax seal designs. I also added the silver highlight using a silver pen.
I hope you feel inspired to wrap gifts for Christmas and incorporate some of your cardmaking supplies! Have fun crafting!
