Did I mention how much I love stamps I can use all year round? In case I haven’t yet – I do! I have two projects to share today both using same alphabet set – Whimsy Alpha and same card design but are made for two different occasions – a Valentine’s Day and New Year.

CARDMAKING SKETCH

I love to use sketches as a starting point for my cards. I often sketch out ideas in a notepad and later follow them to create my cards. I made a sketch for the cards I’m sharing today and I’m hoping you’ll find it useful. Pin it, save it, share it, use it!

CARDS DETAILS

I went with very simple design in mind – bold three-line sentiment (up to 5 letters in each line) and three flower clusters. I picked out color combinations for each project and first stamped and die cut letters.

After arranging my letters on a light gray cardstock panel cut to 4 x 5 1/4″ (and foam mounting them in place) I also stamped and die cut flowers and leaves. For my New Year card I used Be Merry Florals set and for the Valentine’s Day card I used Fresh Cut Flowers.

I arranger flowers and leaves into 3 groupings and adhered onto my panels using foam and regular adhesive. I added white gel pen dot details both to the flowers and background panels and foam mounted latter onto A2 top folding card bases made out of white cardstock.

I want to die cut and stamp a bunch of those Whimsy Alpha letters in various colors of ink just so that I have them for a variety of sentiments as I create.

I think these would also work great for some fun fridge magnets – I can see myself spelling out little love messages for my hubby on the fridge (or him spelling something out for me).
