Hello there!
A few people have e-mailed me to let me know that some of my blog links aren’t working (for example, links to products I was using). I did some digging and found out that links that come in an e-mail newsletter do not work. They do work when you click over to my blog, but do not seem to work in the e-mails going out from my blog.
I am working on getting links fixed and I’m hoping to have them all fixed very soon (I wont be able to fix old e-mails, but new e-mails should not have that problem). I really appreciate you letting me know about this problem and sticking with me while I fix it. Thank you!
Today I wanted to share a card I had posted on WPlus9 blog a few days ago using one of my first ever stamp set from this company – Iconic Christmas.
Since this was my first post as WPlus9 Design Team member, I thought it would be appropriate to use my very first stamp set for my card. Also, because I believe repetition is a good way to learn something I wanted to make one more project that would feature a dry embossing details technique using coordinating dies I shared in a video on WPlus9 blog last month.
I started working on this card by stamping two trees (medium size trees from Iconic Christmas stamp set) in Last Leaf ink onto a panel of Oatmeal cardstock. I used my mini MISTI stamp positioner and double stamped them both to have a better ink coverage.
I left a bit of room in the center of my panel for the big tree; placed a companion die, taped it in place and dry embossed in my Platinum 6″ die cutting machine using embossing sandwich. Once I had that tree outline in place I went back to my MISTI and stamped the main tree in the center. At that time I also realized that Last Leaf ink color was looking a bit too light for my scene and re-stamped all images using Appletini. Some images ended up being slightly offset and I have to say I love this look.
I stamped a few additional images from the Iconic Christmas stamp set and cut them out using companion dies – I stamped lamp posts (I clearly have a thing for lamp posts as I seem to be using them on nearly every card of mine), wreaths and carolers. In addition to Appletini, I used Old Gold and Cranberry Crush colors.
The sentiment, Good Tidings, was heat embossed in gold embossing powder directly onto panel. To finish this card I added some red and white twine and adhered several gold sequins.
Are you a fan of WPlus9? Do you remember which stamp set from them was your first one? Share below, I’d love to read!

Gorgeous card! So cozy, elegant and classy!
thank you!
Unforgettable was my first set. I watched Dawn watercolor it and that began my love of that medium. I’ve made lots of beautiful welcome baby and happy birthday for littles with it.
it is a beautiful set for sure!
What a gorgeous and elegant card Yana! I love the vintage feel!
This is a lovely set and a beautiful card 🙂 I think my first WP9 set was the dream catchers.
Beautiful card. I like the dry embossing, colors and design.
