Hello friends! In my previous WPlus9 post I took a look at some of the fabulous background stamps and created several stamped patterns for unique, one-of-a-kind cards. Today I want to continue exploring backgrounds and have prepared several additional cards to share with you using stamps from the Borders & Backgrounds 4 set.

PROJECT DETAILS
I made 3 projects using various stamped patterns and also created 2 additional backgrounds just to show you all the different designs you can stamp using these stamps. The color combination I went with today is rather soft and feminine – I used a lot white, several shades of pink, a bit of green and a hint of yellow.
Before stamping my backgrounds onto white cardstock I did some test stamping and tested several ideas on typing paper. After finding a pattern I loved I stamped it using my selected ink colors onto white cardstock.
Background #1: For my first project I used “chevron group” image and created a somewhat random stamped pattern. I love that one chevron is missing from this group allowing us to come in and stamp it using a different ink color. While most of my background was stamped using Last Leaf color, some chevrons were stamped in Shell Pink and Sweet Gelato.
Background #2: To create a background for a smaller, 4 Bar card, I used “small dot border“ stamp and stamped it repeatedly onto my paper. I alternated the alignment and offset each row by one dot to the left and to the right. I used Sweet Gelato, Little Piggy and Shell Pink ink colors and did not clean my stamp in between impressions to have leftover ink residue from the previous color used (so for example, Little Piggy color on this project is a mix of Little Piggy and leftover Sweet Gelato).
Background #3: I used “large dot border” image and stamped it using Last Leaf color. After stamping the first row I used an insert image and stamped chevrons using Shell Pink. This helped me align the next row of “large dot border” images. I continued in the same manner until I had the entire front of the card stamped and later came in and added Sweet Gelato inserts over several Shell Pink inserts to add a pop of color.
Background #4 and #5 use “large dot border” and “small dot border” images and simply show different ways these can be aligned. I used 3 shades of pink to stamp both backgrounds to create a beautiful ombre look.
I picked a very feminine color combo for my backgrounds, but these can be easily turned masculine by stamping them in Appletini, Old Gold and Coconut Husk.
To complete my cards I added flower cluster from the Spring Blooms stamp set and white heat embossed several sentiments from the Strictly Sentiments 4 (I used ink blending tool and Sweet Gelato color and blended hot pink onto white paper to create colored cardstock that would match in color to the rest of my project).
So this concludes my background study! I hope you have found it useful and inspirational.

Another wonderful set of cards, Yana. You’ve inspired me to play with some of my BG making stamps – thanks!
Beautiful cards Yana, love the colors and designs. The added vellum piece really softens the sentiment area – great addition 🙂
Wonderful cards!!
Great cards. . .I love the endless pattern possibilities with these stamps. Thanks for sharing.
These backgrounds are genius!!! It’s hard to believe they’re all made using one stamp set. Enev though this particular set allows many possibilities for building a background, your lost has many ideas how other similar sets can be used. Thank you for sharing!
