Hello, everyone! My laptop decided it was a good time to break down couple of days ago and my hubby was trying to fix it since Saturday. He fixed it on Sunday, it worked like normal on Monday and than broke again. So that has set me back a little bit as I was hoping to get some more blogging done and share this project earlier during the week.
But thankfully, my laptop is back to normal and I can go back to my usual blogging routine. Fingers crossed its not going to break again as I need to finish so many videos by the end of this month (working on a card class).
So I’m finally sharing my card using Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember(R) Hero Arts exclusive stamp set. Its a smaller set that also includes a die.
I started working on this card by heat embossing a Leaf background image onto Cream cardstock using Hero Arts White Satin Pearl embossing powder. Its a new color and I find it to be very pretty. It is more of a clear powder, not so much white, but it does give your images that beautiful satin pearl finish. Unfortunately, photos don’t do it justice, so be sure to watch my video below to see this embossing powder in action.
Please watch my video below or on Youtube:

I used Simon’s Stitched Rectangled dies to trim my heat embossed background to make sure it would fit nicely onto Simon’s smaller card base.
I die cut the word Prayers using Hero Arts die and stamped a word Prayers on top using Simon’s Catkin ink. Because this is a clear stamp it makes it easy to aligh on top of the die cut. I also cut 3 stitched maple leaves and colored them using same Catkin ink (I have another card using these dies here).
The word Prayers was also die cut out of fun foam. I added 2 layers of double sided adhesive (to the back and to the front) using Scrapbook Adhesive’s by 3L Adhesive Sheets. I love using those to make sticky die cuts. The top layer of adhesive was used to adhere the stamped cardstock die cut and the bottom layer was used to adhere the entire piece onto my heat embossed background.
I tucked the die cut leaves under Prayers, added a small stamped “sending you” sentiment, I stamped it using Vintage Sepia ink and dressed this card up using Fall Sequin Mix from Neat & Tangled. The panel was foam mounted onto Simon’s Card Base, which was trimmed down a bit to match the proportions of the die cut panel.
love this project
thank you! xoxo
This card is sooo beautiful! I love the background stamp and the embossing powder! Definitely will be putting that in my cart before I checkout 🙂 Love the leaves too and how you got two different colors using one ink pad! Very cool!
thank you, Jamie! Yes, that embossing powder is a must!
Beautiful cards!
thank you, Jeanne!
Beautiful card – just love the colors you chose!
thank you, Mary!
Yana, these cards are STUNNING! I had to pin this video so I can try it. (I wish I had a die that says ‘prayers’! I love that.)
thank you, Teresa! you can try this with any other word die, I just love adding foam like this for a pop of dimension.
Beautiful Yana, Love the embossed background, it’s subtle but adds a lovely base for the sentiment and leaves.
thank you, darling! hugs!
This card is beautiful and elegant! I love that stacked sentiment and the beautiful embossing on the background!
Wow! My jaw dropped when I popped onto your blog this afternoon. This card is stunning. I really like that you used the satin embossing powder…never saw that before. I have to have some and soon. Are you settling in yet? Love that you are here in the U.S.
Yama….just watched your haul video for Scrapbook Adhesives 3L gift you received from them. Excellent review of the products. Yep….keep doing the haul vids…I enjoyed viewing it. I even saw a few items I will purchase. So thank you.
So sorry YANA..” I do know how to spell your name in my above comment…darn that ” auto-correct”…..I do not like it in most cases. Sometimes autocorrect can be funny but, mostly not.
no worries, Connie! thanks!
Before I started watching video – I thought that background is a PP. This new powder is gorgeous! As well as this background stamp from SSS. Cards are stunning! I like this background against colorful leaves and diy chipboard sentiment.
Люблю тової роботи! Дякую що ти є!
