STAMPtember | MFT Stamps Exclusive Collaboration. Video

Hello friends! Today’s exclusive STAMPtember collaboration is with MFT Stamps! There’s a stamp set and coordinating dies. Here’s a look at my card and video:

Here’s a look at this stamp set, I just adore the cute critters in this set and the style in which they are illustrated, this is very MFT. I wanted to create a flat one-layer card with a beautiful safari-type pattern.

I started to work on my card by using narrow tape, the Spellbinders Best Ever craft tape in 1/4″ size and I taped the edges of my cardstock panel. My idea was to stamp a pattern onto this background, but have a 1/4″ border around it.

Next, I placed the panel inside my mini MISTI stamping tool, added a sheet of clear acetate, and started planning my pattern. I build my pattern not only using the images but also the sentiments. With the stamping done, I removed the tape and started to color.

I did a very simple coloring, as I always do:

• E37, E33, and E31 to color the trunk of the palm tree.
• The leaves were colored with YG67, YG17, YG03
• The elephants were colors using warm gray colors – the W5, W3, and W1. I also softened the coloring using the Colorless blender.
• The hippo was colored in the same way, but using the Cool Gray colors, the C5, C3 and C1 and once again I used the colorless blended.
• The giraffe was colored with YR15 and Y35 colors.
• The bird was colored using the same yellow-orange markers as I for the giraffe, the YR15 and Y35 as well as reds in R27, R24, and R22.

Lastly, I adhered this panel to an A2 side folding card base and I used the white gelly roll pen to add some details to my images.
