Hello all! I am back to blogging on Spellbinders blog these days (by the way, are you their fan? have you seen their new website? be sure to check it out and subscribe to the newsletter, they have loads of good stuff in there) and I have new video tutorial to share with you.

Spellbinders released a bunch of smaller and much more affordable dies and I’m going to be playing with one of them in this post (you can see all of them here, there are more coming soon and I have links to other stores at the bottom of this post).
I used a fun little World View die which is basically a globe. This die pas two parts, the globe itself and the Earth insert that allows you to die cut an additional circle and dry emboss an image of Earth. Die cuts like that work beautifully for travel cards (think about putting a little pin on a specific spot on the globe and having a “Greetings from …” sentiment), miss you cards and even cards for a Geography teacher.
None of those ideas were good enough for me, I decided I needed to go outside the box. Hubby and I are currently watching Stargate (we’ve watched Stargate Atlantis and now watching Stargate SG1, I am really a Sci-Fi geek) and that show is all about outer space and other planes. That influenced me to include an image of another planet on my globe and make a space card.
Luckily, I have a To The Moon stamp set from Altenew that features a few images of the Moon and better yet, images fit perfectly onto the globe die cut!
I die cut the globe out of black cardstock, heat embossed one of the Moon images in white embossing powder and foam mounted onto a galaxy ink blended background (I shared how to make a background like that in this video here using Altenew inks, I used Distress inks for today’s background). I also heat embossed a “You’re out of this world” sentiment which seems to be perfect for this type of card and foam mounted that over the globe with a bit of white glitter tape.
VIDEO
I’m sharing a quick video tutorial showing how to make this card, you can watch it at the top of this post or below or on my Youtube channel. If you like it, I would appreciate you giving it a thumbs up and sharing. You can also pin it t Pinterest to watch later. Thank you!
