Spellbinders | Repeated Negative Die Cutting. Video

Hello all! There is always so much you can do with a single die – create a shape, emboss with a shape or do faux embossing, stencil, creative a negative. The list can go on an on. I’m sharing a card featuring repeated negative die cutting technique using a single Coffee Cup die from Spellbinders.

CARD DETAILS

Every time we create a die cut we have a positive piece (the die cut we created) and a negative (something we usually throw away). My idea for a card I’m sharing today came when thinking about fancy laser cut papers. I decided to use a single die and die cut it repeatedly in a background to create a unique negative die cut piece.

I also used the same Coffee Cup die and created a focal point for my project – an actual coffee cup embellished with a die cut circle and a sentiment banner. To embellish the negative background and to add a pop a color to it I die cut several coffee cup sleeves in several colors and foam mounted them in places where the coffee cups were supposed to be.

I also added several enamel dots and a bit of gold thread and gold glitter tape to make this card pop.
