CARD DETAILS

Instead of using traditional flower dies I stepped out of my comfort zone and decided to use succulent die cuts. I die cut a number of elements from the Succulent Garden die set out of white cardstock and used my Alcohol Markers to color them, add shading and highlights. I love doing that – you can always cut out of white and color your die cut elements with your favorite coloring medium. Usually I like to use watercolors, but for this project I went with markers.

I also die cut an irregular background using a Grateful Lattice die, I altered it a bit with my scissors and foam mounted onto my white card panel. The colored succulents were then grouped together and adhered on top.

I also added a simple Mother’s Day sentiment that reads Hope Your Day is Extra Special Just Like You, the stamp is from WPlus9. The white panel was adhered onto a dark gray card base and was also embellished with a few teal enamel dots.
