Hello crafters, welcome back for another episode of the “It’s a Christmas Season Cardmaking Video Series” for 2021. Watch episode one HERE.
In this video, I have a mini slimline card with a touch of hot foil stamping and some die-cutting created in traditional Christmas colors – red, green, and a little bit of white.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by doing my foiling. I wanted to have a sentiment foiled at the bottom of the Midnight Green cardstock panel from Simon Says Stamp, cut to 3 1/4 x 6 1/4”, this will make the front of my card. The sentiment reads Family & Friends Are The True Gifts Of Christmas and comes from the Spellbinders Gifts of Christmas Glimmer sentiments set. I love the style of this sentiment – how it combines several fonts. It looks very classy.
I also foiled a top of the panel using a snow glimmer plate from my Glimmer Winter Village plate set from Spellbinders from last year from my Yana’s Christmas Basics collection. This snow glimmer is just a thin border, but it can be foiled repeatedly to create a wider snowy background for the card. The idea for this card is to have the foiled sentiment at the bottom, the foiled snow at the top, and a car with a Christmas tree in the middle.
I find hot foiling to be an exceptional way to add some wow to a card and if you are new to hot foil stamping, if you haven’t tried it yet – I can’t recommend and encourage you enough. A hot foil machine is a bit of an investment, but if you are looking to up your cardmaking and take it to a different level, you’ll be able to easily do that with hot foil stamping.
I also die cut a little car for this card and I cut it several times from colored cardstock: Lipstick Red, Glacier, Black, Silver Mirror, Gold Glitter, and white. I wanted my car to carry a Christmas tree on top. Spellbinders has a Bottle Brush Tree die set that can be used to create a tree. I die-cut 2 layers – one from gold glitter cardstock and another layer, identical piece, from Green Apple. I layered and offset to create a fuller tree.
The Special Delivery car dies also come with a bow. The idea is to have that bow tie whatever is on the roof of the car to the car itself making it irresistibly adorable.
I foam mounted the car and the tree onto the card and added the bow on top. I used Spellbinders gold gems and embellished the card – I added some gems up in the sky to add more gold to the falling snow and I also added a few additional gems here and there to finish this design. I adhered my panel onto a mini slimline card base, it measures 3 1/4 x 6 1/4” and called this card done.
Have fun die cutting!

This is adorable!
I love the Midnight Green card stock you have used on several cards you have made recently. It really looks good especially when foiling. This is so cute and the tree is adorable. You have given such nice, clear instructions that it will be easy to create this spectacular card!
Lovely card. Love the foiling, so perfect. Thank you.
