And now, something a bit more cheerful – a jolly Ho Ho Ho Christmas card. It reminds me of a vintage poster. I figured I needed to step away from the traditional gold and try to use the other popular metallic color, silver, so I paired various shades of red with light blue and silver. I think it looks stunning! I might try this same card design on a dark background. What do you think?
This is the third post from my impromptu “It’s a Christmas Season” mini series here on my blog. See the first post here, the second one here, and third one here.

CARD DETAILS
I used Jolly Ho Ho Ho dies from Spellbinders to make this card. This die set, similarly to the one with the tree, packs a punch. You have 2 layers to die-cut the Ho Ho Ho – one solid layer and one, also solid, but with dashed detail, to add shadow. The inside of the “O” can be die-cut using 3 inserts, and there is also a little piece to make the “O” into an ornament. How clever is that? And, this die set is very affordable.
I die-cut the Ho Ho Ho from silver mirror cardstock, I used the dashed layer for that. The solid layers were die cut from Pool Play, Rich Coral, and Cranberry Bliss papers from FSJ. I adhered the colored cardstock die cuts onto silver die cuts and offset layers bit to have that pretty silver shadow show.
Next, I foiled “Jingle All The Way” is Matte Silver foil at the very bottom of my white cardstock panel. Then, I foam mounted the rows of Ho Ho Ho alternating the colors. If you look closely you’ll notice that each color appears 3 times on the card. The blue looks particularly nice as it forms a pretty visual triangle.
I added silver ornament hangers to turn the “O”s into ornaments and also embellished the card with Silver jewels from Pretty Pink Posh. I love the bold graphic look of this card! Now I’m off to re-create this design using dark cardstock. I hope it looks just as nice!

I love the card. And it is very cheerful. I think a black background would look stunning with the silver. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
