Spellbinders | How to Use Celebrate Flowers Registration Press Plate. Video

Hello friends! This week I continue to share a look at the products in my new Let’s Celebrate collection with Spellbinders. I’ve already shared a How To Use Floral Celebration Press Plate and Stencil Bundle video and in this post I’m sharing the How to Use Celebrate Flowers Registration Press Plate. As always, I have several examples for you, I hope they inspire you to create with either these products or products you already have in your stash.

First thing first, this set is a REGISTRATION BetterPress set. This means there are several pates and a template to press each plate/layer in different ink colors. I love registration sets as they allow to create multi-color results. I have shared a How To Use BetterPress Registration Plates video, be sure to check it out if you are new to BetterPress Registration. LETTERPRESS IN DIFFERENT INK COLORS

My first example shows the use of different ink colors to create a beautiful pressed image. Here I pressed layer one, Celebrate, in Coastal, Hydrangea, and Cosmic Sky (I have these all linked below). The second layer, Floral, was pressed in black and colored using Karin Brush Markers (there are watercolor markers).

Remember, BetterPress ink bleeds from alcohol markers. Use either non-alcohol markers to color BetterPress images or press images using alcohol marker-friendly ink.

Next, I added a Happy Anniversary sentiment (also part of this collection), it was pressed in black ink and cut out using the coordinating die. Here are some close-up images:

LETTERPRESS FOIL & INK

My second example shows one layer, Celebrate, created using foil and the Glimmer Hot Foil System.

Remember you can foil with BetterPress plates, but you cannot betterpress with the Glimmer Plates.

The second layer, Flowers, was pressed in black ink and once again colored using Karin Brush Markers. Here I did one layer using foil, but you can do both layers using foil. The Happy Mother’s Day sentiment comes from the Let’s Celebrate Sentiments set, also part of this collection.

BLIND LETTERPRESS & FOIL

My next example is very hard to demonstrate on photo, be sure to watch my video, as that shows it a lot better. I’m yet to learn how to take beautiful photos of the Blind BetterPress image. Blind letterpress means you press with a plate without any ink. So you are just making an indentation in the paper. It looks soooo beautiful! Here I did one layer of blind letterpress and another layer of foil, but you can do both layers of blind letterpress. It looks stunning. I look forward to doing more of this.

ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES

Of course, I have additional examples. Specifically, examples using just one layer from this set – Celebrate. This creates a beautiful focal point sentiment for your card. You can either press it in ink or foil and frame using florals. Here I used a new die from my collection – Peony Celebration:

The inks used to press Celebrate are: Saffron, Tuscan and Clay.

You can also foil the sentiment on heat-resistant acetate and layer over a colorful background. I used my new Peony Background BetterPress plate to create the background for this card and added a foiled sentiment panel over it:
