My favorite kind of cardmaking is Christmas cardmaking! Every year I make way more Christmas cards than I actually need, but since I do it because I love to, not because I have to, I never mind. In fact, sometimes I wish I could make Christmas cards all year round!
August seems to be just the right time to start making Christmas cards, at least for me. Most of the companies have already revealed their Christmas collections for this year, there’s lots of inspiration, and there’s no pressure to get it all done now! I can take as long or as little time to make a card.

CARD DETAILS
I love Spellbinders Sparkling Christmas collection (no surprise!) and because I work for Spellbinders I am lucky enough to receive all of their products ahead of time. I have a big stack of Christmas dies and glimmer plates sitting on my desk and let me tell you, these products are tempting! Every day they are calling my name lol!
Last year I shared THIS card with a Spellbinders die showing how to foil using a die, not a plate. I re-created that look again but using a new NOEL die. I love the result! Here’s the video showing how to foil with dies, basically you just need to add an extra shim to increase the pressure in the machine, it is THAT simple!
I used Hero Arts Arctic cardstock as the base for my background. I foiled the NOEL outline in gold foil and then ink blended Simon Says Stamp High Dive and Hero Arts Navy inks around the edges to darken them. I love this trick, it instantly draws the eye of the viewer to the center of the panel and the center itself looks as if it is glowing.
Next, I die cut all of the parts and pieces from various cardstock – gold and teal mirror, gold and white glitter, and regular green. I also foiled “Season’s Greetings” using a new holiday sentiment set.
Lots of foam adhesive was used to assemble this card – I popped the NOEL letters up, I also popped the sentiment banner up.
White Jane Davenport pens were used to add white dots onto the background (I colored some of the berries white). I also embellished the card with Gold and Sea Glass jewels from Pretty Pink Posh. I really love adding jewels to my cards lately.
This card *might* be a bit over the top with all the bling and glitter and foil. But I love it. I had fun making it (even though it took me about 3 hours) and I would make a bunch more! Maybe I will, who knows?
Have you started making Christmas cards yet, or is it still a bit too hot for that?

Yana, this is just stunning, WOW
Gorgeous! The pop of red really adds a lot of yumminess to the card. Turns a beautiful card into a gorgeous card. I prefer the gold sentiment. To my eyes with the white sentiment The pop of white competes with the pop of red. I’m not into foiling but the beautiful Noel card gives me a card idea using the supplies I have. Thank you, Yana
Another stunning card. It’s just gorgeous, absolutely love it. I’m just about to put this die in my shopping basket alongside the Joyful Christmas Tree. I think I need to go through all my e-mails from you before I check it out in case there’s anything else I NEED. Thank you for the inspiration your beautiful creations provide.
Keep making foiled cards. I love them. They are so elegant. Oh and, I just ordered the system along with many of the dies and foils that you’ve shown. Excited to receive them and start playing.
