Last Spring I had a few cards published in the Papercraft Magazine – all were created using Spellbinders dies, all focused on Botanical Bliss collection and all were made with one theme in mind – Birthdays. I’d like to share a few of those here on my blog. I’ll be posting them one by one starting with my favorite – gorgeous (actual) window card!

CARD DETAILS
I wanted to make it look like there is a gorgeous sunset view from the window. For this I used Distress inks and created a vivid ink blended background. Follow my instructions below if you’d like to re-create this project.
Begin working on this card by blending several colors of Distress ink (Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey) onto a piece of white cardstock cut to 3 ½ x 5“. Add drops of water to activate the ink, let panel dry and adhere onto an A2 top folding card base.
Next, cut a panel of pearlescent white cardstock to 4 x 5 ½ “. Position window die in the middle of pearlescent white cardstock panel and cut out, emboss the die cut. Cut same element and window box out of silver cardstock. Place silver window die cut inside the white panel, add foam adhesive squares from the back and adhere onto the card base over ink blended background.
Next, put window box together to create a dimensional element and adhere onto the card. Finally, foam mount white window die cut as shown. Heat emboss Birthday message in platinum embossing powder onto pearlescent white cardstock to create a sentiment for this card. Trim into a strip and foam mount in place.
Since this is such a dimensional project it is best to be hand delivered. You can also spice this card up by adding little handmade or premade florals onto the flower box itself.

Congratulations on the publication Yana 😀
Fabulous card – the window die is very elaborate and your card is beautifully made!
This is a gorgeous card. Love this window flower box design.
I love all of the cards you’ve made, but this one really is lovely. I’m on a very limited budget so I have to make wise choices when buying stamps & dies, so I will wait to see all of your cards this week before making my decision. Your cards are stunning. TFS your God given talent with the paper crafting world.
This really IS gorgeous Yana, no wonder you got published! Congratulations!
Congratulations. I can see why you’d be published. I love this card and window scene.
