I continue my quest to replenish my stash of handmade cards with simple, all-occasion projects. This time I used a Daisy Bouquet stamp set for a yellow daisies “Just Because” card.

CARD DETAILS
After doing all of the usual things to make this card – stamping, contemplating color choices, finally settling on the marker colors and actually coloring I decided to crop a part of the panel off and accidentally cut a bit too much. But accidents can sometimes be happy accidents and so I decided to use both parts of the panel and leave a slight gap between them for a modern design trick.
In case you are wondering, I used the following Copic marker colors: YG03, YG17 (and added shading using a dark green pencil), Y38, Y15, Y11 and C1 (used to outline the cluster).
I first planned to use yellow cardstock for the background, but after trying the Sunshine panel I realized it was too vibrant and didn’t really go with the card. I switched gears and used a Fog panel instead. Sunshine cardstock was used for the “Just Because” sentiment as a tiny pop of yellow. Of course, I added some clear droplets to finish the look. I love the result and I’m so happy I’m making simple cards these days.

SO PRETTY, Yana! LOVE the little slit in the front panel! ;)<3
What an amazing “simple” card!
Cool “happy accident”!! I really like the gray shadow and have been giving it a try with colored pencils. Really cool look and helps make the focal image come forward off the background. Am loving seeing your CAS cards. Reminds me to keep it simple and go back to basics. Cardmaking doesn’t have to be fancy all the time!! You rock, Yana!
Sooo pretty and beautiful!!
Blackeye Susans, perfect for end of summer season. Simplicity is so beautiful, and little stress in making. Keep them coming.
WOW Yana, so beautiful. I love this stamp set so much, it is on my wish list. You coloured the daisies perfectly!
Thanks for sharing the selection of copic markers – that is always so difficult for me – truly appreciate!
