Hello there! Simon’s newest New Beginnings release is live and it is a great one for elegant and delicate Spring and Easter cards. I was a bit impatient to share this little beauty I made just the other day.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by stamping several crocus flowers and leaves from the More Spring Flowers stamp set. I am a big fan of the original Spring Flowers set (as well as Winter Flowers) so I was very happy to see such a beautiful addition. I used Intense Black ink and my MISTI for best results.

I also stamped a few flowers and leaves, daffodils, from the Friendship Blooms set (it was released last year). The way I was planning to color my flowers daffodils added just the right amount of yellow. I used coordinating dies to cut every image out and started coloring.

I used my favorite Copic Marker color combos for my coloring:

Greens: YG67, YG17, YG03.
Yellows: YR14, Y17, Y15, Y13.
Purples: V17, V15, V12.
Violets: BV08, BV04, BV02.

I also stamped a beautiful sentiment that reads “Where flowers bloom – so does hope” in black ink onto a white panel cut to 4 x 5 1/4″. I adhered my panel onto an A2 top folding kraft card base and foam mounted my images on top. I also used glue for some of the leaves as I didn’t want every piece to be popped up on my card.

Lastly, I used little berries and Simon’s Wisteria ink and stamped several in between my flowers to create a background filler. I also used Pretty Pink Posh clear droplets to create morning dew effect.
