Simon Says Stamp | Watercolor Wonderful Banner

A friend of ours is helping us to ship the remainder of our possessions from Phoenix to Ukraine (we moved in March of 2018 from Phoenix back to Ukraine) and one of the things I asked him to find and ship were Daniel Smith watercolor tubes. I didn’t pack them with me or ship them with me originally, as we sort of had other plans, but life is never what you expect it to be. So I am quite excited to receive the tubes in the mail and refill my custom watercolor palette. Meanwhile, I watercolor with what I have.

CARD DETAILS

I white heat embossed the Wonderful Banner onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper and colored it with my Daniel Smith watercolors. It took some trial and error as it has been quite a long time since I properly watercolored last. Once my coloring was dry I added details using my Polychromos colored pencils – I added dark purple shading to the banner.

With the coordinating dies available, I cut the images out and assembled them with foam adhesive. There are additional individual flowers that are meant to go on top of the main banner to add detail. You can get a better idea of how it looks like on the photo below:

To create a background for this card, I stamped the Old Letter background in watermark ink onto dark blue cardstock. It is very simple, but fitting for this card. I foam mounted the banner overtop and embellished the card with Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
