Hello, friends! My watercolor adventures continue (see my previous watercolor cards HERE and HERE) and today I’m sharing another watercolor card I made. This time I used a stunning Botanical Heart stamp set from Simon Says Stamp. The main heart image is very large and very detailed. It took me several cards to color it and I first attempted it as a no-line watercolor.

CARD DETAILS
I have used this Botanical Heart stamp set from Simon Says Stamp previously, but with my Copic markers. You can see that card HERE:
I started working on this card by using my MISTI stamping tool and stamping the Botanical Heart in Old Paper Distress ink onto Arches Cold Pressed watercolor paper. Next, I used my favorite watercolor colors and colored the image over the course of several days. With the coloring completed, I attempted to use my Polychromos colored pencils to add detail to this image, but I didn’t quite like how it looked, so I made a decision to heat emboss image outline instead and have done so using Antique Gold embossing powder.
This stamp set has a coordinating die set, I used mine to die-cut the heart image out. I also die cut additional layers from scrap cardstock, glued them together, and used to add dimension to the heart. I also heat embossed “Happy Mail” sentiment from this set, added a circle border, and cut out using a coordinating die.
I wanted to add some foiling to this design, so I used a rectangle glimmer plate from Spellbinders and foiled a pretty dotted border around the background panel cut from Desert Storm cardstock. I also foiled “Sending My Love” sentiment in same Brass foil but on Fog cardstock.
I foam mounted the background foiled panel onto the A2 Desert Strom card base and adhered the watercolor heart on top. I trimmed the excess and used the leftover pieces to fill the background in.
Lastly, I added the “Happy Mail” sentiment die cut and “Sending My Love” die-cut and that finished this card.
