Simon Says Stamp | Want a Hug?

Hello friends! My new Simon Says Stamp goodies came in the mail a few days ago and I rushed to my craft corner to make this cute card – Wanna Hug?

I started by stamping this adorable bunny, bird and balloon (oh and a bow tie too) using Simon’s Intense Black Ink onto Arches watercolor paper. I know where aren’t any pink bunnies out there, but I wanted to make mine pink. I had the cutest little plush bunny toy when I was little, he was pink, so that’s where I got the inspiration for this card.

I colored images using my Gansai Tambi watercolors, cut them out with the help of matching dies and started working on a background. I used several colors of distress ink – Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters and created an ink smooshed background on a watercolor panel. I adhered a sheet of Scrapbook Adhesives Adhesive sheet from the back and die cut the Friend word out. I also die cut an identical element out of white adhesive foam sheet.

I adhered the background onto a white card base, adhered the foam die cut in place of the negative and adhered the watercolor Friend die cut on top. This way I was able to create a dimensional die cut that is a part of a background. I also foam mounted my bunny, bird and balloon, stamped Wanna Hug in Versafine Onyx Black and adhered several clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I added one layer of Glossy Accents over the eyes of the critters and the the balloon for a layer of shine.
