The one kind of card I have not done this year (and probably a year before that) is a shaped one! I wonder why?! I’ve been meaning to try and make simple shaped cards, those that don’t really require special dies or other tools to make. So as my last Holiday card of the year (okay, maybe not the last, but almost last one) I made a tree-shaped card.

CARD DETAILS
This shape, really, is a piece of cake to make. I started by making an A2 side folding card base out of green paper. Next, I trimmed it at an angle from the top left corner to the bottom right cutting the card base in half on a diagonal line. This already gives you a tree shape, although one that’s a bit odd. Next, I used a circle die and “rounded” the bottom edge of my card base turning it into this beautiful yet easy to make Christmas Tree shape.
Once the shape was done I started decorating it by using images from the Christmas Cheer stamp set. I heat embossed a sentiment “Sending Christmas Cheer” as well as a number of snowflakes in Antique Gold embossing powder. Next, I used the old but good ink blending technique and added dark green ink around the edges darkening them and “forcing” the center to “glow”.
Lastly, I used jewels to decorate the snowflakes, similar to what I’ve done here & here in the past.

What a creative shaped card! Beautiful in green and gold! <3
Beautiful! I love the glow.
Loved this card – might have to do a few more Christmas greetings this weekend. Your creativity inspires me. Thanks Yana!
Loved the card. Not sure how you cut the edge with the circle die.
WOW, love the colour combo you have going on here Yana. The shade of green ink you used fading into the center making the glow is beautiful over the gold embossed snowflakes. A beautiful job for sure.
Beautiful card!!!
