Hey friends! I have more Summer cards to share featuring goodies from Simon Says Stamp. Some of these have been featured in my Simon’s Instagram Takeover back in June, so you might have already seen them. But if you haven’t – you’re in luck! I’m sharing them on my blog. Today I have the “Sending Summer Your Way” card featuring some simple ink blending.

CARD DETAILS
I started to make this card by using repositionable spray adhesive on the back of my Leafy Frame stencil. This stencil is very delicate and I wanted to make sure it would stay in place nicely without moving when I did my ink blending. I adhered it onto a white cardstock panel cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″.
Next, I used several colors of dye ink from Simon Says Stamp and did some simple ink blending. I never was much of a fan of the ink blending, but now I’m really into it. I love using Simon’s inks for blending on white paper for some striking and vivid results.
The colors of ink I used are Maliblue (if you don’t have this color in your stash – you really should get it, there’s just nothing like it – perfect for Summer), High Dive, Deep Sea and Duckling. Blending Duckling into the Maliblue created a beautiful green transition shade.
I removed my stencil and sprayed this background with Hero Arts Iridescent White Shimmer Spray. This is also a new-to-me product that I’ve recently been loving and using a lot.
This background needed a sentiment, so I white heat embossed one that reads “Sending Summer Your Way“. It is hard to see it on the photos, but it shows nicely in real life. I also cut about 1/8” off of each side of my panel and adhered it onto an A2 white top folding card base.
I wanted this card to have a cute koala bear so I stamped, die-cut and colored one using my Copic markers. I recently share a video and an updated post talking about my favorite Copic Marker Color Combos and here I used exactly those – nothing new, just same true and used color combinations that work.
The colors I used are:
- W1, W3, W5
- C5, C7
- R20, Colorless Blender
I foam mounted koala onto the card and added a lot of white pen details. I also embellished the leaves in the background using Morning Dew drops from Nuvo.

He is adorable. Thanks for the pic tutorial on how you created with fabulous card.
Thanks for the tutorial. I just received the Hello There stamp and can’t wait to use it. Love all the critters but especially the koala. He is so cute and your card is perfect showcase for him.
Yana, I love how you are using critters on your latest projects these are my favourite images and I love using them on my projects too. This koala is so adorable he steals the show in the middle of your card. Thank you for putting a very detailed photograph pictorial of how you put this project together; that is really, really helpful but I am sure quite time consuming for you. :O)
What a great colour combo for your background Yana. I really must try and think outside the box a little more. LOL (I seldom think of just winging it and trying new colour combos for my own backgrounds…this is why I follow you! haha)
What a beautiful card! I love the colors and the blending! 🙂
Super cute koala!!
WowYana! Fabulous card! I just love, love that awesome background! TFS
