Hello, friends! We recently had the filters in our AC unit replaced in our apartment in Phoenix (it’s getting hotter and hotter every day so we keep the AC on almost all the time) and we had a handyman come in and do it. So I wanted to give him a card and some chocolates as a little thank you, so I made this simple Thank You project. I’m linking to all supplies I am using at the end of this post. CARD DETAILS
Simon’s Father’s Day Finds is one of those must have sets for masculine cards. It’s not only great for Father and Grandpa projects, but also for all kinds of guy cards. I have an idea in mind where I want to use the fishing rod and fish (also fish from the Best Fishes set) for a funny project, just need to get around to executing it on paper.
I started working on this card by stamping, die-cutting and coloring the saw and the pliers (I am not sure these are pliers, please correct me if I’m wrong). I used Simon’s Intense Black ink, my mini MISTI and Platinum 6 die cutting machine.
As for the coloring, I went with cool grays and colored tools using C1, C3 and C5 markers. These are the best colors to get that “metal” look.
To create a sentiment I used “You’re Pretty Amazing“, cut the “amazing” part off and stamped just the “You’re Amazing” in black ink onto Fog panel cut to 4 x 5 1/4″.
After I foam mounted the tools in place I also, following my example HERE, stamped tiny “Thank You” at the bottom. If you are making this card for a husband or Father or a Grandpa you can replace “Thank You” with “Love You”.
Lastly, I adhered my panel onto an A2 top folding card base and that finished my project. Super simple, quick and fun to give and receive!

How lovely Yana, and your card is fab. I am sure the maintenance man will be very delighted 🙂
Great card for the occasion, Yana. I’m sure I’ll have reasons like yours to use such a card. Thanks for sharing it.
What a great idea to share a card with the handyman! I believe you have a saw and a wrench on the card. I know those are not pliers … I think it’s a wrench. Weather is getting hotter here in Tucson as well. Bye, bye winter … hello desert summer (ugh!). Thanks for sharing!!!
Beatiful CAS card, love it!
Hi Yana, I love your card! I like to make cards for handymen also, so this is perfect. I know that those are slip joint pliers because I used to help my dad around the house and he used them for almost every project. Thanks for the memory.
Great CAS fathers day or masculine birthday..
