Hello, friends! I continue to explore my colored pencils and today I have a card to share made using Simon’s incredible Ornate Background stamp. This card is actually one of those that show how to easily fix a coloring mistake.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this project by heat embossing the background in white embossing powder onto kraft cardstock. Next, I grabbed a few colors of pencils (I used Prismacolors) and colored select sections of this image.
I planned to have a full background at first; have a few sections colored and keep the rest as is, but as I was coloring I realised I didn’t quite like parts of my coloring and decided to cut them off creating this partially cut and colored ornate overlay for my card.
I cut the parts I liked and before foam mounting onto my card i masked a part of the card base off and blended a bit of Tumbled Glass ink. I also stamped “Together We Stand, Divided We Fall” sentiment and that finished this very simple project.

Very pretty card 🙂
Stunning card! I’m amazed at how vibrant the blues show against the craft. I generally try to fix my mistakes, embellishments always save me with smudges and I have selectively cut out images (especially florals) and then layer onto another panel. TFS Yana!
I love this background stamp cut up!!
I usually try to fix my mistakes, which I have a lot of, lol. This card was a happy wonderful mistake, it came out stunning. I just love it and it goes in my “save” file. Thanks.
This is gorgeous Yana, a great save! I never (or almost never) throw away any flub. I put it on the back of my desk until an idea for its use comes to mind! Eventually, I will come up with an amazing idea for it that didn’t occur to me when I started the first project. haha (When this is your hobby and can’t afford to keep up with all of the latest things, this is what you do but I love it!)
I fell in love with this stamp background when it came out – so many possibilities! Love what you did!
I absolutely love this card!! I usually try to fix a mistake.
Thank you. Not only for this beautiful card, but for the message that we all need so very much right now. God bless you.
Always hide mistakes!!
Love this card. The Ornate stamp is on my wish list. Your card just helped to move it up higher on the list.
I love your card! It is beautiful. I usually try to salvage the card, if there is even anything to salvage. But your card is gorgeous!!
Seriously Yana, you have got to tell me how you come up with these absolutely amazing ideas. That is my number one Christmas wish for 2017
Wow, this is gorgeous. The blues make it look so vibrant.
This card is absolutely fantastic !!!
Beautiful card; I love the colors you picked. I usually try to fix my mistakes.
Gorgeous, gorgeous.

Another gorgeous card!! This stamp is beautiful on it’s own but your colouring and cutting turns it into a work of art that is quite stunning! I always try to fix or hide my flubs. Every now and then it can’t be saved but often it turns out better than my original idea. You gotta love those ones!
Wonderful card…very nice colors!!!
