Hello all! Simon’s Wide Stripe background stamp is probably my most favorite out of all backgrounds, I love how simple and bold it is. I usually like to stamp it using one color of ink, but this time I decided I would use multiples to create an ombre look.
I started with light yellow – Duckling and inked up the top stripe, next used Sunshine and inked stripes #2 and #3. The full size ink pad is too big to ink up just one stripe, so unless an ink cube is used, you will be inking 2 stripes at once. My next color was Melon, I used it to ink stripe #3 (inked over the Sunshine) and #4. And finally used Apricot and Sunkist for the last two. Most of these ended up being not true colors since they got mixed with the previous color of ink, but I really love the end result. Easy to make and doesn’t take a lot of time.
I also stamped a little sail boat using Melon ink and cut it out with a matching die; for the star fish I went direct to paper with Apricot ink pad and heat embossed it in white embossing powder and also cut our with a matching die.
The black Enjoy sentiment was die cut out o black fun foam (I added a layer of adhesive sheet from Stick It to make it sticky) and also heat embossed Let Your Dreams Set Sail in white onto black cardstock. I am really into having dreams and working towards making the dreams come true, so this card has a bit of self motivation in it.
Lastly, I adhered several clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh, I adore these tiny embellishments lately, they make any project pop and look especially beautiful on flowers.
