Hello friends! Summer is in full swing here with all the heat and sunshine and all I can think about right now is going to the sea or to the ocean and enjoying the cool water. This inspired me to create the card for today – I used a sail boat image to create a repeated stamped pattern for my project.
With the You Float My Boat sentiment is a perfect card to give to my husband.

CARD DETAILS
I used several colors of blue (although my husbands says most of them are green) ink to stamp sail boat images in an ombre manner. The top layer was stamped in Surf Blue, next one in Spring Rain, than I used Scuba and finally High Dive for the last row (where only the top of the sails is visible). MISTI stamping tool was used for all of these as I double stamped most of the images.
After ink was completely dry (I used my heat tool to dry it in a few sections) I stamped and heat embossed boat outline images using Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder. That completely changed the look of this pattern and made it more pleasing to the eye. I intentionally offset the top layer for a more creative (or I guess messy) look. Adding the gold outline also made this pattern feel more like a fabric print.
I wanted to use both the Sail Away and You Float My Boat sentiments, so I heat embossed the first one onto a vellum tag, I used same Antique Gold embossing powder; the tag was folded over the stamped pattern which I had previously trimmed with Simon’s Stitched Rectangle die.
The second sentiment was heat embossed in WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder onto a strip of black cardstock and was foam mounted over the vellum tag. I also hid the adhesive that adheres the end of the tag onto the main panel behind the black strip (I used black foam squares).
I embellished this was with several clear and brass sequins as well as a few clear drops from Pretty Pink Posh.

Oh wow… So cool and fresh! Stunning card!
Lovely card. I love the off-set sails for the colouring outside the lines effect! p.s. I think the sails all look blue
My favourite color… blue. Love the boats & the sentiments. Great male card idea. Not a flower in sight 🙂
Very beautiful, Love those shades of blue!
This is wonderful Yana!
LOVE it, and especially how the colour of the boats seems to “floating” away too!
Funny that your husband sees green – it’s like “what colour is this dress” all over again – lol
Oooooooh! Such a cool, spring-like card. I can feel the breeze blowing and smell the salty air! Makes me hungry for shrimp…lol!
As a fan of sea and blue, I just LOVE this card ! I also love the outline in gold and the “messy” look ! Thanks for sharing with us.
