Hello friends and happy Sunday! I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for their October Card Kit Mini Blog Hop! I’ll be honest with you, I have received my kit quite some time ago and I haven’t had the opportunity to play. Up until now! I’m glad to be participating in this hop as it gave me the perfect excuse for some much-needed crafty time!
I have two Fall-ish cards to share using just the supplies from my kit (and coloring medium from my stash). I hope you’ll enjoy these cards! Grab some Copic markers and join me in making these cards.
HEY PUMPKIN CARD DETAILS
Both of my cards today are A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). I used white cardstock from my kit to make side-folding card bases and covered card fronts with pretty plaid patterned papers from the kit. The patterns included are simply perfect for Fall. They are also ideal for drawing color inspiration – the colors are very soft, and immediately have me thinking of Fall.
Follow these step by step instructions to re-create this card:
- Stamp images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Use mini MISTI for perfect stamping.
- Color images with Copic markers. I used the following color combos: RV00, RV10, RV11; Y11, Y15, Y17; YG00, YG01, YG03; YR15, YR04, YR18; R22, R24, R27, R39; C3, C1.
- Fussy cut images using a good pair of scissors. I prefer to use these scissors from Tonic.
- Create an A2 white side folding card base. Cover card front with patterned paper.
- Arrange images and foam mount in place to add dimension.
- Use a white pen to add highlights.
- Stamp hearts in black using Versafine Onyx Black ink.
HELLO, AUTUMN CARD DETAILS
My second card is rather similar to the first one. I used similar colors (red, pink, and gray) and even a similar composition. I stamped a chubby bear and dressed him in a fashionable white & gray Fall sweater. Isn’t he adorable?
Follow these step by step instructions to re-create this card:
- Stamp images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Use mini MISTI for perfect stamping.
- Color images with Copic markers. I used the following color combos: RV00, RV10, RV11; R20, R22, R24, R27, R39; C3, C1, C9; W1, W3, W5; E00, E31, E33.
