Simon Says Stamp | October 2017 Card Kit – Trio of Cards

Hello, friends! It’s the 14th of the month and it means it’s time for new card kit from Simon Says Stamp (more about the kit and kit subscription below)! This month kit surprised me with gorgeous rose gold foiled papers from My Mind’s Eye – they are simply fabulous and instantly take any project to the next level.

I made several projects using my kit and still have plenty of supplies left to create additional cards.

CARDS DETAILS – YOU ARE LOVED

I started working on these by cutting out flowers and leaves from 2 patterned paper sheets from my kit. I love papers where I am able to cut out certain elements to use as faux die cuts for my cards.

I covered the entire front of an A2 side folding card with foiled polka dot paper and foam mounted a sheet of striped paper cut at an angle forming an odd reversed V. I used fun foam to adhere the striped paper to make it more durable. Next, I stamped You Are Loved in black ink onto a strip of white cardstock and foam mounted onto my card. I arranged my cut out pieces into a floral cluster, adhered onto the card and embellished using Nuvo Drops in Antique Rose.

CARDS DETAILS – THANK YOU

This card is a smaller 4 Bar size ( 3 1/2 x 4 7/8). I used the same approach to create this project. First covered the front of the card with patterned paper, next added a srtip of rose gold cardstock (it’s my new fave!) and topped it off with blue polka dot pattern cut at an angle.

 I didn’t add any Nuvo dots here aside from the one on the center of the flower. Here’s a close up:

CARD DETAILS – YOU GOT THIS

My last project for the day is a square 4 1/4″ card. I picked a few of the patterns, cut them into strips of various width and sliced at an angle for a unique looking background.

I embellished this card using another faux die cut floral cluster and added a Steel Navy heat embossed sentiment – You Got This. Steel Navy is a new color of embossing powder from Simon, it is included with the kit.

Here’s a close up – you can see that beautiful rose gold foiling on the paper.
