Simon Says Stamp | Nutty Over You – Acorn Valentine’s Day Card

Hello friends! I have one last card to share before Valentine’s Day – “Love. Nutty Over You”! I decided to use one of Simon’s older stamp sets that was released last fall, also called Nutty Over You to create this project. I love to stretch my stamps and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do so. You might remember me using it to stamp a few simple Fall affection cards last September.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by drawing a heart outline using a pencil. Next I filled the shape using acorn, mushroom and heart images from the Nutty Over You stamp set. I used several colors of ink starting with Coral Reef (darkest), Sunkist and Apricot.

I filled in the spaces in between the images using triple dot and single dot images, which I later coated with Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

To create a sentiment for this card I used a Love die and cut it out of white paper and black self adhesive fun foam. I blended Simon’s Dark Chocolate ink over white die cut to change its color to make sure it would match the rest of my project. I also heat embossed “Nutty Over You” in white onto white, and again blended Dark Chocolate ink. Finally, I stamped a small squirrel and acorn using same Chocolate ink.

I trimmed my stamped panel and adhered it flush onto A2 top folding card base made out of Fog cardstock.

It was fun to reuse a Fall stamp set to create a Valentine’s Day card – something I really enjoy doing and I encourage you to do the same/join me!
