Simon Says Stamp | Notebook-Inspired Valentine’s Day Cards. Video

Hello, crafters. Welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video! Today I am creating Valentine’s Day cards with the Simon Says Stamp Mixed Labels and (sadly discontinued) Love & Valentine’s Word Mix 2 stamp sets. I wanted to create simple Valentines that would look like notebooks.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on my cards by stamping a label from the Mixed Labels set in Latte ink onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Next, I added a Happy Valentine’s Day sentiment from the Valentine’s Word Mix 2 set (discontinued) stamped in black ink and embossed in clear embossing powder for a shiny finish. I used a coordinating label die and die-cut the labels out.

I also heat embossed “I Adore You” in detail white embossing powder on Schoolhouse Red cardstock and cut it out using not a coordinating die, but one that makes a banner, also from the Valentine’s Word Mix 2 die set.

To make a background, I dry embossed a sheet of pink cardstock (I used Hero Arts Peony and Simon Says Stamp Cotton Candy) using Simon Says Stamp Swiss Dot embossing folder. I foam-mounted the embossed panel onto the A2 card base and foam-mounted my label with the red bookmark-like banner on top.

Lastly, I embellished my cards with cute plastic hearts! I think I’m all set for Valentine’s Day! Have fun stamping!
