Hello, friends! I’ve been wanting to share this card for a long time, but never had the time to put it into a blog post. If you follow Simon Says Stamp you might have seen it during my STAMPtember Instagram Stories takeover on their account. If not – you are in luck, I’m sharing it here today.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by creating a soft watercolor background using my Daniel Smith watercolors and Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. I let my background dry and next dry embossed it with the help of a Stained Glass 1 stencil in my Spellbinders Platinum die cutting & embossing machine. I love to use my stencils for dry embossing – this always opens up a world of possibilities.
Next, I prepped my panel with an anti-static powder tool, replaced the same stencil on top and used embossing ink pad to press onto the paper. I covered it with a generous amount of clear embossing powder and heat set it with my heat tool to melt the powder. This gave me a dry embossed + clear embossed look and texture.
I sprayed my background with some Mica Shimmer Spray and wiped off the excess letting the shimmer hit only unembossed exposed area of the paper. After trimming this panel to 4 x 5 1/4″ I foam mounted it onto an A2 card base and added a white heat embossed sentiment on top – Never Change Who You Are.

Nice card!
Hi Yana, a lovely card with a lot of different techniques used in its making. I don’t understand how you dry embossed with your stencil, can you explain this to me or could you do a You Tube tutorial to show me, please? Thank you :O)
Very pretty Yana.
So very pretty!!
WOW! What a great idea for a background!!! So unique. Always looking for some different ideas on using stencils (which I really like to use). I’m struggling with using the Daniel Smith Watercolors for a background (don’t know what I’m doing wrong), but I’m thinking the Distress Inks would work nicely too. Thanks for sharing, Yana!
