Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share a bit about my creative cardmaking process from coming up with an idea, picking out products, deciding on a color scheme and actually creating my card. I hope you’ll find this useful!
I am making a card for an upcoming Mother’s Day for my Mom using several products from the Fluttering By release by Simon Says stamp.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping a colorful background using a stripe image from the Make Your Mark stamp set in Duckling, Green Apple and Hollyhock inks from Simon.
Next, I die-cut the word Mom out of white cardstock and I used my mini MISTI tool to stamp the corresponding image. I used pigment inks from Avery Elle for a soft ombre look and I went with Pixie and Raspberry colors.
I needed to stamp flowers so I used my Simon’s Intense Black ink and my mini MISTI again and I stamped 4 flowers from the Mom Flowers stamp set. I went with Copic markers and I picked my usual go to color combo for pinks – RV14, RV13 and RV11. I cut these out with the help of coordinating dies.
I arranged everything on my background and stamped additional sentiments “Happy Mother’s Day” and “All that I am is because of you” in black ink. Next, I used the stencil and added dry embossed detail using my die cutting machine. I foam mounted the large Mom die cut as well as the flowers and embellished this card using several Butterfly Kisses sequins.

Love this card, esp the Make Your Mark stripes and the embossed stencil. Just watched your craft room set up. Glad you’re settling in. I still can’t believe your packing video—so much to organize for a big move.
Love the paint —really adds to the card
Love the ink colors you used!
Thank you so much for sharing your process with us! I know I can sometimes get discouraged because ideas do not jump out of my head fully formed like Athena from Zeus, so it’s nice to be reminded that creating is always a process, even for the pros. And your card turned out lovely. How fun to have an extra something to give to your mom along with all the presents from the States. Thanks so much for sharing with us!
Fabulous cards! Love all the colors, textures and layers.
Yeah so happy to be able to tell you that your cards are beautiful. I was unable to comment on the two previous Hops, Tracy Freeman and Lea Lawson, so I almost didn’t stop by so glad I did. I was amazed your coloring technique is fantastic. Moms card is so sweet. The streaks of color look like candles I think this would be a cute Birthday card also.
Your card is tender and delightful <3

A beautiful card for your Mum Yana, I did not know that you could dry emboss with a stencil, I will definitely be giving that a go with my stencils on future projects thank you. I love it when a craft resource can be stretched and used in a different way. :O)
