Simon Says Stamp | Make Me Tea…

Do you remember the “How To Make Me Happy” sentiment from one of Simon Says Stamp stamp sets? I love that it said “Buy me coffee, make me coffee, be coffee, coffee” – I used it for a funny crazy dog card I shared last Summer.

While I love coffee, I also love to drink tea and I actually drink way more tea than coffee. So when Simon’s Coffee & Tea stamp set came out I had an idea to create a similar card, but replace the word Coffee with Tea! Simple washi tape stamp masking did the trick and I made this card!

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by stamping coffee cup from the Coffee and Tea stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. Next, I took the “How to make me happy” sentiment from the Choose Happy stamp set and masked off the word “coffee” using bits of washi tape. I inked my stamp up using same black ink and stamped this message under the coffee cup. This gave me a placeholder to add any noun I liked to customise this card.

I went with a simple “tea” from the Coffee & Tea stamp set and also stamped it in black. You can also stamp other words, like crafting supplies or stamps lol or maybe wine or something else like a tropical vacation? The options are really limitless here.

For my coloring I used watercolors. I picked Finetec Mica Watercolors for the coffee cup and colored it gold. The rest was colored using my Daniel Smith watercolors. I also created a diagonal striped paper to match my teal coloring on the card, trimmed it into a narrow strip and adhered onto my card base along with a strip of gold glitter tape.

Lastly, I added small clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
