Simon Says Stamp | Heat Embossed Lace

Simon Says Stamp | Love Gives Us a Fairytale

This post is also available in English

Have you seen Simon’s new cling rubber stamps from the Hey Love release? I fell in love with them the minute I saw them! They can be used in so many different days and for so many wonderful projects! Today I heat embossed Elizabeth design in Antique Gold embossing powder onto vellum to create a gatefold vellum wrap for a single layer card.

CARD DETAILS

To create this look I first trimmed vellum to 5 1/2 x 11 inches; next I scored at 4 1/8″ on both sides and folded the flaps in. Using washi tape a taped this gatefold piece inside my MISTI and stamped Elizabeth background using Simon’s embossing ink. After carefully removing vellum from MISTI I added embossing powder, pre heat my heat gun and heat embossed the background. I ended up having this gorgeous gatefold vellum wrap. While I used it here to create a Love card I can see it being used for stunning one-of-a-kind wedding invitations or Save the Date cards. This design does look like lace, so utterly stunning!

I knew I wanted to add a sentiment on the outside of the card, so I heat embossed one that reads “Once In Awhile In The Middle Of An Ordinary Life Love Gives Us A Fairytale” in white embossing powder onto Smoke cardstock. Using foam adhesive I adhered this sentiment panel onto one of the vellum flaps.

I used same Smoke cardstock for the inside single layer piece. Using Stone ink I stamped “Love You More Each Day” and stamped same Elizabeth design at the top of the panel.

I couldn’t resist using a white gel pen to add some white highlights and I also adhered my all time favorite clear droplets.
