Hello there and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by today to help celebrate Simon Says Stamp Special Holiday Release Week (more about new products and blog hop below). I am very excited to share a simple Light Up The Town card and video today.
I am always fascinated by various house and building stamp images so naturally I was most drawn to the Christmas Town stamp set from the Advent Plus release. If you’ve been following me for some time you might have noticed I have a thing for houses (if not, check this post and this one, oh and this one too). I also incorporated a little light up element – Chibitronics Lights from Simon’s December Card Kit. These lights are perfect to adding an unexpected WOW element to any project!

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I’ve filmed a video tutorial where I am sharing everything in detail. You can watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS
I started by heat embossing a sentiment from the mini Advent Sentiment stamp set in Antique Gold embossing powder onto a panel of Audrey Blue cardstock. I wanted to have various houses placed around the sentiment, so I needed to start by stamping the sentiment first and I went with Christmas Time Is Here.
Once I had the placement of the sentiment figured out I stamped houses around it. I used my MISTI stamping tool and double stamped images to have perfect ink coverage (you really don’t need to do this, this has become an impulse for me). I also blended Audrey Blue ink around the edges of my heat embossed panel to darken the edges and keep the center lighter.
Lastly, I added a lot of white gel pen details to mimic snow. I love this get pen – I haven’t had a single problem with it and it always gives the best opaque white coverage.

Christmas Village and Swell Christmas are both fantastic sets! Your card with the combination of gold and blue is so beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration.
Stunning card, Yana! Thank you for your inspiration!
I really like the vintage santa stamp from the Limited Edition Kit. He’s a cutie.
I just love the idea of the card you made. It reminds me when I was a child lying on the grass with my friends looking up in the sky at clouds. What a cool idea!
Really enjoying this blog hop and all the great ideas!

So cute! I’m going to play with these lights today!
Great card! Thanks for sharing!
Very colorful and petty card
There’s a lot to like and it’s hard to pick a favorite supply! The lights are such a fun element, and the church stamp is so sweet. Thanks for the tip about the white gel pen–I’ll try those b/c the one I use isn’t working out well. Your card is very elegant and pretty!
I just love this card.. Amazing color combination!! And Lights!! Superb!!
The Santa stamp is so fun – my favorite.
Your card is beautiful. Thank you.
I am in love with the lights. Cannot wait to start adding these to my cards. Yours is beautiful!
What a lovely card. I can’t wait to try adding the lights to my cards.
Love the color of the paper you used! It makes your images and sentiment pop off the page! The lights just add that extra touch that makes your whole card amazing!
What an awesome card, Yana!! I love the pop of gold on the blue and the accent of snow you added. So delightful. My favorite product that you used is the Chibi lights and the Christmas Town stamp set.
Wonderful card ! I like small Christmas towns and little houses, but don’t have room for them anymore as I downsize. These houses will fit. lol Definitely a idea I may copy from you. The lights like frosting on the cake.
What a pretty card! I love the combo of Audrey Blue with the gold embossing. And the interactive touch with the lights makes it so fun 🙂
This is so fun and so beautiful! I really love how you stamped the village images all around the sentiment. It’s super eye catching, and really unique, too. That little village set is my favorite! Oh, and the vintage Santa stamp, too. 😀
Such a beautiful card and the blue and gold makes it even more stunning thanks for the chili light tutorial.
Such a great card! I love the colors you used and my favorite product would be that village set. 🙂
Oh I adore that card!!! The chibi lights worked out perfectly, it’s nice to be able to touch anywhere to have it light up as opposed to trying to find the “sweet” spot to have it light up. 🙂 Love it!
This is such a fun card! I love the Chibi lights effect!
The house stamp is a winner.
Love the card you made, it’s beautiful and the blending is perfect
Awesome card! I have a thing for houses too!

I love turquoise so I’ve got to vote for the Audrey blue paper. Last winter I saw turquoise and white sweaters and was surprised how beautiful and wintry they looked.
Your card is beautiful! Have been coloring images for weeks now – still have to put them on the base cards. Oh the time… where does it go??
