Simon Says Stamp | Lifeguard on Duty - Summer Card. Video

Are you ready for Summer? I am and can hardly wait to spend some time outside and enjoy the nice weather and get some sunshine. I have a Summer-themed card and video to share today, I’m mixing several stamp sets from Simon and just having a blast stamping this.

CARD DETAILS

I started by stamping the sunshine image from My Sunshine stamp set in Duckling onto a white cardstock panel. I was using my mini MISTI this time as I find it convenient and easy to use, plus if I have a stamping imperfection, I can easily fix it. However, this can be easily stamped with a good old clear block, MISTI just makes it a bit easier. I also stamped several background sentiments, Lifeguard on Duty and Summer Definition, those came from Pool Play stamp set.

Next I added a Hello outline and stamped “Sunshine” under it, I used Simon’s Intense black ink for stamping those as I later colored the outline Hello with a black Copic marker to make it a solid one. I used the same black ink to stamp three birds from the Cuddly Critter Accessories set, colored with Copics (I have the colors linked below) and cut out with a matching die.

For Summer cards I often love to use a Wide Stripe background stamp and stamp it in Scuba ink – I love how Duckling and Scuba go well together, so I stamped it onto a piece of cardstock and trimmed into a strip to adhere behind my main stamped panel. I also added a strip of gold glitter paper.

My die cut birds, I think of them as lifeguards on this card, were foam mounted to a pop of dimension. I also added lots of clear sequins and a few clear drops from Pretty Pink Posh.
