Hello, friends! Happy Saturday! Spring is just around the corner and I can’t help but long for colorful flowers around me. I’ve been trying to surround my home with fresh flowers from the market, but I’m also drawn to flower images in my craft room, especially Spring blooms.
Today I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for their Lucky To Know You product release and blog hop and share my take on some of their new products. Let’s take a look, shall we?

SPRING TULIPS CARD DETAILS
My absolute favorite product from the new release is the Layering Tulips stencil set. I do have quite a large stencil collection in my stash, but nothing like this. I was fascinated by the layering concept of this stencil set and upon opening it immediately ink blended the pretty yellow tulips.
I had hoped to film a video to show how to make this project (and I have started filming one), but time has escaped me and I don’t have the video ready yet. Soon! I used just 2 colors of ink for the tulips, and 2 colors of the leaves and stems. I went with Duckling (light yellow) from Simon and Butter Bar (dark yellow) from Hero Arts; Willow (light green) from Simon and Forever Green (dark green) from Hero Arts.
This stencil is so easy to use and I was very surprised at how smoothly and effortlessly I was able to ink blend these stunning tulips for my card. Using this stencil is easier than using layering stamps! Plus, with the stencil, you have the option to go light-handed and heavy-handed if you’d like some areas to be lighter and some darker. So easy.
I trimmed my ink blended panel to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted onto an A2 Fog card base. I also stamped “Everything About You is Amazing” in black ink along the bottom edge of the panel and also heat embossed “Sending Happy Thoughts” in Antique Gold embossing powder on Fog cardstock. Both of these sentiments come from a new Just Because Word Mix 2 stamp set.
Lastly, I embellished my card using gold confetti. I’m so pleased with how this card turned out – I’m itching to ink blend loads more tulips for my cards (and I have already done some ink pink and coral). I’ll be sure to share those soon.
