Hello there! My Simon Says Stamp kit for June 2020 came in the mail a few days ago and I was thrilled to dive in and make a quick card. I’ve missed creating with these kits – they have everything you need to make quick projects, including loads of inspiration. Simon’s kits are especially fantastic for beginners but also great for seasoned crafters alike.

CARD DETAILS
I love the stamp set included in this kit – the butterflies are simply gorgeous. I stamped the largest one in Versafine Onyx Black ink (I was planning to have it in black first), but heat set in Antique Gold embossing powder. I did my stamping on some light blue cardstock from my stash and ink blended Audrey Blue ink from the bottom up creating an ombre look. Next, I fussy cut the image using these scissors from Tonic (they are the best!).
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
- Create an A2 white side folding card base. Set aside.
- Using a Spellbinders Essential Rectangle die die-cut a panel of patterned paper, dry emboss it. Die-cut another partial panel, dry emboss it, cut at an angle, and adhere at the bottom of the panel.
- Heat emboss a butterfly image using Antique Gold embossing powder. Ink blend Audrey Blue ink from the bottom up creating an ombre look. Fussy cut the image.
- Adhere butterfly to the patterned paper panel.
- Select letters to spell “Friend”. Temporarily affix to the sticky surface, cover with clear embossing ink and Antique Gold embossing powder and heat set the powder to melt it. Adhere letters under the butterfly.
- Heat emboss “Thinking of You” sentiment on light blue cardstock. Cut out and foam mount on the panel.
- Stamp additional sentiment in black ink. Sentiment reads “Even as rain pours, I’m here for you”.
- Foam mount panel to card base.
The plastic letters included in the card kit are great for customizing. They can be colored with an alcohol marker or ink or heat embossed to match your project. I used Simon’s Tacky Glue to adhere letters to my card.
