Hello, friends! With our Christmas tree up (still no ornaments on the tree, just the lights) and the gifts wrapped under the tree, I am sooo tempted to start opening the advent calendars early.
Every year I get an advent calendar for my mom, usually a beauty or skincare one. My mom loves them, but she has no patience and usually begins opening them a day or two early, she needs to take a peek at the gifts, to read the description on the back of the calendar so that she knows exactly what’s coming. This year I got her a slightly fancier calendar and surprise, surprise – the box doesn’t list the contents. She searched everywhere to read what was actually included but didn’t find any specific info (no product names). Moreover, one of the products spilled nearly completely (it was a pillow mist), and the entire box smells heavenly. So you can imagine how tempted she is to begin opening the advent early, and I bet she already peeked at more than one drawer. Are you like too? Or do you patiently wait to open the gift when it is time?

CARD DETAILS
My today’s Christmas card features a rather simple, back to basics, design. Repetition is a great technique and one I forget about often. To create this card I repeated the candy cane 6 times to create a festive design.
I stamped the candy canes with Simon Says Stamp Watermelon ink and shaded the inner portion with Lipstick Red. I die-cut the candy canes out and arranged 3 in a row on an A2 card. I didn’t want to add a fancy sentiment, so instead a stamped a skinny one along the edge of the last candy cane, at an angle. It looks different and fresh, I like it.
The candy canes were all foam mounted onto a 3 3/4 x 5″ white cardstock panel and the panel was foam mounted onto an A2 card base, so I have a lot of dimension going on here. I also stamped little holly leaves in Simon’s Pearfection and Limelicious inks and created red berries using Spellbinders gems in red.
To fill the background in a bit, I stamped several stars in black and added a few more gems.
Have fun stamping!

I am so sad that you are no longer doing videos. I loved watching your videos and learned a lot from you. I hope that you will reconsider this decision.
I still do videos, Cathy. Maybe not as often, as I would like, but I do. Thank you!
This is so cool!
