Hello friends and happy December! Here in Phoenix it has finally cooled down a bit and the sun is not burning as much as it does in the Summer. Still rather warm. I have to say I am very much enjoying this weather especially with all the upcoming Holidays. Our Christmas tree is up, the living room is all nice and decorated. Christmas is almost here!

If you follow me and Simon Says Stamp on Instagram you might remember this adorable Santa Paws card I shared during my latest takeover that took place during Cyber Week. In case you missed it – I’m sharing this card here on my blog and will share it in my Instagram stories today, so do take a look!

CARD DETAILS

I started working on my card by selecting images I wanted to use – I used Simon & Lawn Fawn’s Exclusive stamp set for this project. Of course I picked the dog (I can never properly pronounce the name of this breed lol!), stamped a hat, scarf and a wrapped bone and colored these images using my Copic Markers. I stick to my go-to Copic combos for easy coloring (specific colors listed below). This saves me a lot of time and the results are always nice.

I cut my images out using coordinating dies and set them aside. To create the base of my card and front panel I used beautiful woodgrain cardstock (I’ve been using a lot of this paper lately, see it in action here) and die-cut a circle opening in a 4 x 5 1/4″ panel. I foam mounted my panel onto an A2 card base and stamped “Here Comes” in black ink somewhat closer to the bottom of the circle.

I used action wobble spring to adhere the dog (had to add some action to this card) and foam mounted all of the other elements in place. I also added a bit of snow using Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall to the negative circle opening behind the dog.
