Simon Says Stamp | Happy Easter 4 Bar Card

Hello, friends! Where does the time go? I feel like just yesterday it was Christmas, yet today I am making Easter (and thinking about Mother’s Day) cards.

I have a simple Copic colored Easter card created using Happy Easter stamp set from Simon’s New Beginnings release to share today.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by stamping floral cross, “Happy Easter” sentiment along with a curved “Joy, Happiness, & Peace” and two floral clusters at the top and bottom of my panel using Simon’s Intense Black ink and my mini MISTI stamp positioner.  I also stamped additional cross onto another piece of paper and heat embossed white dotted detail in the middle.

Floral images surrounding the cross and also images in the floral cluster are rather tiny, so there’s not much room for detailed coloring. I did quick touch ups (I simply touched the tips of my markers to the images to add dots of color) using my Copics and, as always, I used my go-to Copic colors (I am listing all colors below in my “supply list” section).

I colored both of my crosses using browns and was careful not to go over the white heat embossing too much with my marker not to dissolve embossing powder and have it transferred onto the tip of my marker.

I cut the cross with the heat embossed detail using scissors and foam mounted it onto my main panel using black foam tape. Since both crosses are colored dark brown white foam adhesive would have been too visible there, so this is why I used black.

I also added a bit of natural twine from May Arts – I wrapped it 3 times around my card base (I foam mounted my panel onto a top folding 4 Bar card base made out of Chocolate Brown cardstock) and embellished this card using clear drops from Nuvo – Morning Dew.
