Simon Says Stamp | Happy Birthday Hibiscus Card

Any time I see hibiscus flowers, I am reminded of our vacations in Egypt. I love these flowers and I am especially fascinated by all the different colors they bloom in. Today I have a quite simple Birthday Hibiscus Blooms card.

CARD DETAILS

Recently I shared another card featuring the same images, both cards were made in a very similar way. The card I have today was colored using Copic markers only, the card I shared HERE was colored Copic markers + Polychromos colored pencils. There’s a world of a difference in detail. Today’s card is much simpler.

I stamped the hibiscus cluster, colored it using Copic markers, and cut it out with coordinating dies. I also cut 4 additional blank layers from white cardstock, stacked them together and adhered to add dimension to my main die cut piece.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

• Stamp Hibiscus Blooms in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Simon’s 120lb cardstock.
• Color with Copic markers:
  • YG67, YG17, YG03, YG01;
  • Y19, Y08, Y11, YR14;
  • RV09, RV06, RV10, RV00;
• Cut images out using coordinating dies;
• Stamp hibiscus flowers in watermark ink onto Fog cardstock. Adhere panel onto A2 white top folding card base.
• Adhere the main hibiscus cluster on top.
• Clear heat emboss sentiment by stamping it in VersaFine Onyx black ink. Cut out with coordinating die, cut 4 additional blank die cuts, stack together using glue to add dimension to the main sentiment die cut. Adhere onto the card. Adhere sub sentiment panel;
• Embellish card with white gems.
