Hello, there! I have a quick and simple Friendship card to share today mixing some new and old goodies from Simon Says Stamp.
I had my eye on Simon’s Sketched Alphabet set for a very long time and finally when it arrived a few days ago I was happy to put it to a good use. I love a good size set of letter stamps and this set fits that bill perfectly. Letters are about an inch high making them ideal to spell out a word or short sentiment on a card.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by arranging letters to spell “Friends”. I knew I needed to leave some room for flowers, so I broke the word Friends into 3 lines and aligned my letters to the right. To ensure perfect impression I used my mini MISTI stamp positioner and Simon’s Fog ink (I had some Smoke ink residue on my stamps, so my impression ended up being a mix of these two colors).
To create flowers for this card I used images from the new Friends Of Life stamp set. There aren’t any coordinating dies for this set yet (hint, hint), so I planned to cut the flowers out using scissors and layer over stamped leaves.
I used black ink to stamp flower outlines and filled each flower using two shades of pink and yellow. I used Duckling and Sunshine for yellow flowers and Twirling Tutu and Hollyhock for pink. I attempted to stamp flower centers using gray, but didn’t like how that looked, so I ended up covering the centers with Nuvo Drops in Gloss White.
I cut my flowers out using scissors and layered them over leaves stamped in Apple Green color. I also added a number of tiny dots stamped in Smoke (some also covered with Nuvo Drops in Oyster Gray).
The sentiment for this card came from the same Friends of Life stamp set and was heat embossed in white embossing powder onto black cardstock.
