Hello, friends. Happy Saturday! The weekend is here and I could not be more excited. Also, today is the last day of February, time sure goes by very fast. It feels like just yesterday I was looking out of the window and seeing the first snow of the season.
Anyhow, today I have another Thank You card to share, this time with a beautiful Merci Beaucoup sentiment (which is Thank You So Much in French). I’ve always wanted to learn french in school but never did. The school that I went to had English daily since the first grade. We also had the option to pick between German or French starting fifth grade. I really wanted to take French, but my Mom insisted I studied German. I don’t speak much German (I forgot most of what I learned), but I sure do wish I was able to learn French. Maybe one day?

CARD DETAILS
To make this card I applied one of my favorite techniques – creating a faux dark background using my markers. I started by stamping the image from the Sketched Flowers stamp set in Simon’s Intense Black ink on white cardstock using my MISTI stamping tool. I stamped the cluster twice to have a somewhat full background.
Next, I used my Copic markers and colored it in. I went with my go-to colors: RV34, RV21, RV00, RV14, RV11, YG01, YG03, G94, G99, Y38, Y17, Y08. I also used YG93 and YG95 to color the background of this card beautiful olive green. I’d done black and deep blue many times and wanted to try a different color this time. I quite like how it turned out.
Next, I cut the panel to 3 3/4 x 5″ and foam mounted to the A2 white side folding card base. The sentiment was heat embossed in Antique Gold embossing powder on white cardstock and cut out with a coordinating die. I used foam squares and foam mounted it onto the card.
Lastly, I embellished this card using Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

Card is gorgeous, love the colours, what a fabulous card to receive in the mail.x
Wow, beautiful!
LOVE the olive green background! It coordinates with the yellow and makes the pinks pop! Thank you for the great copic color combos! I need all the help I can get 🙂
What a pretty card. The green background makes flowers really pop! Have had a similar experience growing up learning languages. I wanted to learn Spanish, but my dad was stationed in Germany (military) so I had to learn German. Coming back to the US, the high school only offered French and Spanish so I took Spanish but the German I learned got in the way. Today I remember a few words/phrases in German and only speak a very little bit of Spanish (even tho living in Tucson is a great place to practice Spanish). As you said, maybe one day! Until then … Merci, amie!!
this is such a beautiful card!
Oh my, how beautiful. Gorgeous coloring, Yana 🙂
