Hello friends! I love to combine stamps from various stamp sets and in this post I have a card to share created using 3 stamp set form Simons Says Stamp + scoring technique.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on my card by creating a mask for the boots image; I’m not a fan of masking but it is a wonderful technique that lets you stretch the use of your stamps. I used specialty masking paper today, if you don’t have any you can use a post-it note or even a piece of thin paper and simply temporarily adhere it using low tack tape or removable adhesive.
I stamped image of the boots in Simon’s Intense Black ink, masked it and stamped flamingo making it look like as if he’s wearing these booth. I did practice a few times before I was able to get the perfect placement. I also stamped some additional leaved on the ground next to the boots – this, I feel, helped “ground” them and created the illusion of a horizon line for this simple card.
Next, I used my Copic markers and did some very quick coloring using my usual go-to colors. I don’t have a lot of colors, for I almost always stick to the same combinations. I used:
- YG03, YG17
- Y15, Y19
- RV14, RV13, RV10
- E37
Once my coloring was done I stamped a sentiment that reads “Face Today With Total Confidence“, this message comes from the You Got This stamp set and it comes as a one strip, I wanted it to take 3 lines and not be a one line message, so I cut it carefully with my scissors. I can always piece it back together if I decide to stamp it as intended in the future.
Next, I used my scoring board and added horizontal score lines going 1/2″ apart. I made sure to omit the part where the image and the sentiment was and only did partial scoring. I trimmed this panel to 4 x 5 1/2″, adhered onto an A2 white side folding card base and added pretty pink jewels to embellish it.

I agree … the leaves really do ground the image. I like that “trick”! I keep forgetting to try your idea of adding score lines for a simple background on a card. Glad to have the reminder! Thank you, Yana. By the way, the flamingo wearing boots is adorable!!!!
I love those boots! Cute card!
Really cute! Love the way the whole scene catches your eye and makes you look at the details. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Super cute! Love it!!
I love this!!! So many ideas are floating in my head for the stamps I have! Thanks for sharing!
The link does not work to get the SSS Summertime Animals and I could not find it on the site at all. Is it an old stamp set or is it under a different name?
Love the card and have everything but the flamingo to make it!
LOL, Love the sentiment with this particular image Yana, so fitting.
Beautiful colouring as well.
Great idea scoring the background. Love the sentiment and images. Very pretty card.
What a super beautiful card! Beautiful masking and scoring too! 🙂
Thank you Yana for reminding me that I like to score my card stock with my image/s on too. I haven’t done this for a while so I will definitely be doing it on my next project. I love the flamingo in welly boots – priceless! :O)
