Hello friends! I was browsing my facebook feed the other day and spotted at least 6 people saying they booked their flights to CHA (Craft and Hobby Assosiation) trade show in January. Are you coming to the show? It is in Phoenix this year so I’ll be there for sure!
Anyhow, this post is not about that. I have another Holiday card to share – this one features a simple watercolor wreath.

You might remember this card I shared a few days ago where I used Simon’s Winter Flowers stamp set and created a white on kraft background. Ever since I made it, I’ve had the idea to use just the leaves from that stamp set and arrange them into a wreath.
I used my mini MISTI and stamped about 3 sets of leaves and berries onto watercolor paper using Simon’s Intense Black Ink. I used Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils (just two colors – 0400 Poppy Red and 1600 Last Leaf) and water brush and quickly colored my images.
There are coordinating dies available, so I used them to die cut images out and shaped each leaf with my fingers. I arranged images into a circle and glued each one down onto a die cut ring using Multi Medium adhesive in Matte finish. Once everything was dry I wrapped red and white bakers twine around it to imitate ribbon on an actual wreath.
For my card base I went with my favorite white woodgrain cardstock. I love to use if for simple and clean cards like this one. I also heat embossed a beautiful handwritten sentiment in Simon’s Antique Gold embossing powder onto a strip of vellum and wrapped that around the card base (the sentiment is not readable, but this is the look I was going for – just some subtle text in the background).
I foam mounted the wreath onto the card and heat embossed my main sentiment, Season’s Greetings, in white embossing powder onto a strip of red cardstock.
