Hello friends! I’m back home from our quick impromptu vacation last week and I’m already packing for another trip tomorrow (work trip). I love to travel, but sometimes it’s just too much. I’m hoping to be home by the end of the week and go back to my usual everyday routine.
Today I have 3 very simple and quick to make cards featuring Simon Says Stamp December Card Kit – Holiday Cheer. The kit is sold out, if you are a subscriber hopefully you’ll find this post useful as I share some inspiration; if you are not a subscriber and didn’t receive this kit but do like the projects I’ve made – many of the kit contents are available separately in the Simon Says Stamp store and I’ll link those below.

All of my projects today feature the same concept – patterned paper + chipboard embellishments from the kit. I used the stamp set that was included in the kit (also sold separately) on one of my cards to add a snowflake layer and mute the candy cane stipe pattern. I also incorporated some vellum from my stash and white embossing powder to white heat emboss the snowflakes.
I trimmed patterned paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ and adhered onto an A2 white side folding card base. Next, I cut vellum to 4 x 5 1/4″ and white heat embossed 2 snowflake clusters coming in from them top right and bottom left corners (I mounted the snowflake stamps onto my clear block and stamped identical images on both corners on my vellum panel). After adhering the chipboard stickers onto the vellum panel I adhered it onto the card and called this project done.
I was a bit pressed for time (once again!), so I kept this card along with the other cards simple without any additional embellishments. But I can see myself decorating the centers of the snowflakes with some jewels or sequins or something else for a touch of sparkle.
My next 2 cards both use the same candy cane diagonal stripe paper along with one sheet depicting Santa’s village. I really loved that specific paper and had my heart set on using it for 2 cards. I trimmed it using my paper trimmer so that I had two about equal sheets for each card. I also used bits of other patterned paper from my kit to complete the background.
I only added “Santa’s Workshop” and “25th” chipboard stickers along with some snowflakes in various sizes to finish this card.
The last project for today, Jolly, features the other half of the Santa’s Village paper and once again some chipboard stickers from my kit. I did use a solid layer of foam adhesive under the Santa’s Village paper to pop it up on my card – I always love to add dimension to my projects where it is called for.
This is all from me for today. I hope you enjoyed these simple card ideas. I’m going back to packing and will see you later this week!
