Hello there! Today I have a very fun Christmas Fishes card to share featuring some of Simon’s older stamp sets. I’ve been enjoying the idea of dressing up everyday critters for Christmas so much (first I dressed up giraffe and just a few days ago I dressed up flamingo); I can’t quite stop looking for various animal images and either coloring them in Holiday colors or dressing up in Santa hats.

CARD DETAILS
Snowglobes are very popular around Christmas time, but how about a Holiday fish tank? I know this sounds very weird (and ridiculous, too), but I had this idea of placing a Christmas tree and presents inside a fish tank so I gave it a try. Not your typical card, but I love the way it turned out. What do you think?
I stamped a few fish from the Best Fishes stamp set in Simon’s Intense Black ink onto white paper. I also stamped a tree from the Christmas Graphic set and a tower of presents from the Gifts of Love. I didn’t have coordinating dies for any of these images so I cut them all out using scissors.
I went with Copic markers for my coloring and used just a few colors.
I heat embossed the fish tank image along with the “Christmas Fishes” sentiment in white embossing embossing powder onto Simon’s Fog cardstock. I used a white gel pen and colored in the fish tank walls.
Using a craft knife I cut the inside of the tank out and added Simon’s Sea Glass cardstock panel behind it. To add to the Holiday scene I heat embossed a few snowflakes from the Cute Snowflakes set and drew a few white snow-like dots.
Lastly, I added some Ranger Star Dust stickles to the presents and fish and coated fish eyes with glossy accents for a fun pop of dimension.
SIMON’S DIECEMBER RELEASE
Simon is having a fun DIEcember release these days, be sure to check it out, especially if you haven’t yet picked a Christmas gift for yourself!
