Hello, crafters. Welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video! In this video I’m creating an autumn Thank you Card with the Simon Says Stamp Autumn Cascade stencil. The Autumn Cascade is a 2 part layering stencil, it is beautiful! I am also using the Thankful and Grateful Stamp set with the coordinating dies to make the sentiment for this card. My color combo today is not the most traditional one, I am using yellow, orange, and gray.

This is an easy project, it can be a one-layer if you want, by stamping the sentiment directly onto the background, or a two-layer card if you want to die cut the sentiment out and pop it up with foam adhesive.

CARD DETAILS
I used Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″. The leaves in this stencil are all placed in a curve, or in an arch. I need to ink blend this twice to have an almost full background for my card. So I’ll have a leafy arch at the top of my panel and another leafy arch at the bottom of my panel, and they will form almost a circular leaf frame on my card if you will.
My idea is to blend each leaf with a different color of ink and I’m just using 3 ink colors – Citrine, Mandarin, and Earl. I have a blending brush for each color and I rotate through these 3 colors to ink blend the leaves. The gray color is probably somewhat unexpected here, it does look odd, but in the end, this color combination works beautifully.
There is a 2nd layer to this stencil and that adds detail and veins to the leaves. I picked just one ink color for the detail layer, it is dark gray Charcoal. This dark grey works really well with yellow and orange and of course the lighter gray. Yellow and gray always make a great color combo and adding orange here easily turned the yellow and gray color combo into a perfect fall combo.
To create the sentiment I stamped the word Thankful using orange ink and I cut it out using the coordinating die. Next, I added additional stamping to the background in Charcoal ink.
Lastly, I used a white gelly roll pen and I added white dots onto each of the berries to create a teeny tiny highlight, I also added some Aura sequins from Spellbinders to hide some of the ink smudges I ended up having on my cards. Have fun crafting!
